See Us on TLC's "Hoarding: Buried Alive"

Over the past few months, Emily and some of The Organized Life's team members have had the opportunity to work with a local client in conjunction with the TLC show "Hoarding: Buried Alive." We're honored to have been featured in the opening episode of Season 2 of the show on August 8.

Bennie, the client we worked with, struggled with hoarding and overconsumption for many years before deciding to take back his home and his life from the stuff that was literally crowding him out. We've been truly impressed with and amazed by his determination to clear out his space and regain control, and have been honored to work with him.

If you missed the show on August 8, check your local listings for repeat broadcasts (our episode was called "A Homeless Man with a House") to watch the story of one man's journey out of severe disorganization, and how The Organized Life helped guide him along that path.

We're Turning 6 and We're Expanding!

2010 marks the sixth anniversary of The Organized Life and brings with it some exciting changes for the company.

For starters, we’re significantly expanding our service offerings for small businesses and professionals, from one-person operations and home-based companies to corporate work groups and teams.

By expanding to offer more services for businesses, we’ll have the opportunity to share the benefits of organization with a broader audience, and to bring the same sense of control, productivity, and reduced stress to offices and workplaces as we’ve helped bring to homes.

Our business organizing and productivity services include

  • Creating, updating, and maintaining filing systems, both paper and electronic
  • Helping with contact management, whether getting your business cards better organized or working with you to create a flexible contacts database
  • Space planning in your office, studio, or workshop to create an effective, comfortable workplace
  • Time and task management designed to help you gain more control over your week and work more efficiently
  • Organizing and productivity workshops and coaching for teams and workgroups

Great changes are afoot for our residential clients as well. We’re adding new members to The Organized Life team who are dedicated to helping you get more organized at home. Essentials Classes
Becoming a Professional Organizer: The Essentials is a full-day class for new and prospective Professional Organizers I teach with my colleague Josh Zerkel.
We're now also offering Paper Management: The Essentials, a class designed for Professional Organizers who want to offer paper management to their menu of client services.
